A final salute to Gen. Vishwa Nath Sharma, the 15th Chief of the Army Staff (1988–1990).
A distinguished cavalry officer, he is remembered for his steadfast leadership during the 1987–88 Sumdorong Chu (Wangdung) standoff. As Eastern Army Commander, he reportedly refused to withdraw Indian troops in the face of Chinese pressure.
His legacy will continue to inspire generations of soldiers.
