Message from the Secretary Rimcollian Old Boys Association

Col S C Ray Burman
It is with a deep sense of occasion that we launch the new website of the Rimcollian Old Boys Association - a milestone that is as much a celebration of our past as it is a promise to our future.
RIMC is no ordinary institution. For over a century, its hallowed halls have shaped the minds, character, and destinies of some of India’s finest military leaders, administrators, and professionals. The values instilled within its walls - honour, discipline, camaraderie, and service - are not merely lessons of youth; they are the very foundation upon which we have built our lives. To be a Rimcollian is to carry a legacy that few can claim and all of us cherish.
The achievements of the Rimcollian community speak for themselves. Our alumni have scaled the highest peaks of military leadership — Chiefs of Army and Air Staff have walked these very grounds as cadets. The gallantry awardee Rimcollians who gave their very last drop of blood on battlefield defending Bharat are our brothers, our forbearers, our inspiration. Beyond the battlefield, Rimcollians have distinguished themselves in diplomacy, civil services, public life, and creative fields, carrying with them the soldiering values that RIMC so meticulously instils - courage under fire, integrity without compromise, loyalty to the nation above all else, and the quiet resilience that only a life of early discipline can forge. These are not values taught in classrooms alone - they are lived, tested, and proven on parade grounds, in dormitories, and in the lovely environs of the Doon valley that shaped us all.
What makes our fraternity truly extraordinary is the warmth and bonhomie that unites us, regardless of the decades that have passed or the miles that separate us. The moment two Rimcollians meet, there is an instant recognition, an unspoken bond, a brotherhood forged in the early mornings of the Doon valley. This website is our new common ground, a digital home where that spirit can flourish without borders.
With the title of being a Rimcollian comes a profound responsibility. The cadets who walk those grounds today are our successors, and it is incumbent upon us — as the alumni fraternity — to give back to the institution that gave us so much. Whether through mentorship, scholarships, infrastructure support, or simply inspiring the next generation with our stories, ROBA must remain an active and committed custodian of RIMC’s future. This platform will strengthen our collective ability to do exactly that, and we must all pledge to keep it alive and vibrant.
I am deeply humbled and honoured by the trust this community has placed in me as Secretary. It is a responsibility I do not take lightly. I pledge my complete dedication, sincerity, and energy to serving this fraternity and to upholding the ideals that bind us together. Every Rimcollian deserves an association that is worthy of the institution we all love, and I shall strive every day to be deserving of your confidence. Ich Dien.
